Alyssa Tisdale

330 Sterrett Drive, Suite 148
Blacksburg, VA 24061
Alyssa began her journey at Virginia Tech on one of the busiest event days in recent history—a Metallica concert—which was a fast-paced and exciting introduction to campus emergency management.
Originally from South Florida, she recently graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF) with a bachelor's degree in emergency management and homeland security, along with a certificate in public service. During her time at UCF, she completed a hands-on internship with the Seminole County Office of Emergency Management, where she gained valuable, real-world experience in preparedness, response, and recovery operations.
Alyssa chose this field because she is passionate about helping and protecting others in the face of adversity, often behind the scenes and without recognition. She decided to start her emergency management career in higher education because, as a recent student herself, she understands the challenges students face and how important it is to meet them where they are at. Most importantly, she wants our Hokies to know there are dedicated professionals on campus working to ensure their safety and well-being every day.
