Chris came to Virginia Tech in 2017 and serves as a senior emergency coordinator for Virginia Tech Emergency Management (VTEM). Chris coordinates training, the radio loan program, Stop The Bleed program, and assists with numerous other programs that VTEM oversees.

Chris is an FAA licensed Part 107 drone pilot for the emergency management drone program. He is a credentialed FEMA Type 3 Situation Unit Leader and Planning Section Chief and represents Virginia Tech on the Southwest Virginia Regional Incident Management Team.

Prior to joining emergency management at Virginia Tech, Chris completed a 24 year career in law enforcement, retiring in 2017. While still in high school, Chris joined the Virginia National Guard, serving 6 years as he completed high school, college, and as he moved into his law enforcement career. Chris earned an associate of science degree in administration of justice from Central Virginia Community College, and a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Radford University.
